In L4D2, when a player walks to the edge of a cliff, the game calculates the surface's normal vector based on the player's position and orientation. The game then compares the player's movement vector with the surface's normal vector to determine if the player is hanging on the edge.

Yes it works, but using lagexploit it doesn't. There is also another way, when you are the only one standing or alive your character will not hang when you jump to a ledge

and my game crashed not too long ago with latest test version, you should try to play with this one instead, test autoshove for crashes
