When I don't use it, Left 4 Dead 2 runs perfectly fine for me with no crashes at all.

Not this week for sure. Major work is being done to the code and its still being done as of now. Since theres very alot to go thru it will not be finished in upcoming update, instead it will be finished in parts between several updates. When it will be done updates will be considered as final
